Recently we planned one-day trip to Pondicherry. On 6th April 2007 we started from KALPAKKAM to visit Aurobindo Ashram. We reached at about 07.45 am to Aurobindo Ashram. We were told that the ashram will be opened only at 8.00 am. So we visited Manakkula Vinayagar Temple very near to Ashram. We worshipped Lord Vinayaga and had a very nice prasadam Venpongal. We started from the temple and reached Ashram at about 8.30 am. We sat in the ashram in front of the Samadhi of Sri Aurobindo and mother. After that we visited the book shop in the ashram campus. I purchased a book written by Sri Aurobindo. The title is Enadhu Siraivasam. He described his prison experience in Alipur during 1908 and 1909.

After that we started to visit ABISHEKAPAKKAM. It is located near Thavalakuppam. Thavalakuppam is located in the Cuddalore road. We reached Ahishekapakkam and worshipped Lord Lakshminarashima and started to reach POOVARASANKUPPAM. In Poovarasankuppam an excellent perumal temple is there. We worshipped Lord Lakshminarashima. This temple is located near Siruvandadhu which is popular for silk sarees. After completing worship we started from Poovarasankuppam to Parikkal. We reached PANRUTTI and from there we went to Thozhudoor. In this higyway a gigantic Anjaneyar Statue is established. From this area we have traveled nearly 5 kms. and reached PARIKKAL. In parikkal also Lord Lakshminarashima is blessing the devotees. The worship timing is morning 06.00 am to 01.00 pm. After completing the worship we started our journey and reached VILLUPURAM. We had our Lunch. At about 2.30 pm we started our travel and reached Pondicherry. In between Pondicherry and Tindivanam a new temple is establied in PANCHAVADI. A 36 feet gigantic Anjaneya is the main deity of that temple. From panchvadi to Pondycherry route a new amman temple is there. The main deity is PRITHIYANGARA. The height of the statue is 72 feet. At about 4.00 pm we reached Auroville and visited Matrimandir. Finally at about 4.45 pm we had a tea at Auroville and started our journey. We reached kalpakkam at about 06.15 pm.

The one day trip was very excellent. We traveled around 350 kms. in one day.
